It's my first year living in New York City for New York Fashion Week and the city feels electric. It’s a mix of big shows, street style moments, and that rush of inspiration you get just from walking around and seeing everyone bring their best. As a newer brand, it can feel a little surreal to think about how we fit into all of that—but that’s exactly what makes it exciting. Fashion Week isn’t just about what’s happening on the runway, it’s about the energy, the conversations, and the chance to show how our point of view belongs in the mix too.
I walked the streets a bit during Fashion Week and to my surprise, the socks were THERE. From SoHo sidewalks to front-row shows, they’ve officially stepped out of their “basic” lane and into the world of style statements. I noticed girls styling socks with everything: sporty athleisure, elevated high-fashion looks, and casual-chic fits for navigating the city.
Even the runways leaned into this styling shift. Designers gave socks their moment, pairing them with everything from sculpted skirts to oversized tailoring. Here are a few standout looks that caught my eye:
-
Cinq à Sept brought a playful sweetness with silver socks styled alongside a puff skirt and cropped cardigan — the perfect blend of girlish charm and city polish.
-
The Row leaned into its signature minimalism, layering classic white socks under sleek loafers to complement sharp tailoring. A masterclass in quiet luxury.
-
Christian Cowan went bold, sending a bubblegum-pink mini down the runway with thigh-high black socks, proving that socks can anchor a look as much as stilettos can.
-
Celine doubled down on French cool with ribbed black socks tucked into glossy Mary Janes, a styling trick that added edge to both their menswear-inspired tailoring and feminine silhouettes.
What stood out most was the range: socks styled for sweetness, for edge, for sophistication. Fashion Week confirmed what we’ve been saying all along — socks aren’t just practical, they’re an accessory in their own right.
